True Power ‘Copper Bonded Lightning Arresters’ are manufactured with pure copper bonded over high tensile steel rods. The mast of these lightning Arrester remains the same as of high conductivity copper like in ‘Copper Lightning Arrester’ while the holding rod is replaced by Copper bonded rod.
The Copper bonded rod provides increased tensile strength and corrosive resistance to the lightning arrester rods. These rods are generally used for areas with high wind pressure and highly corrosive environments. They provide elongated life and best protection in corrosive environments like coastal areas, areas with heavy rainfalls and industrial areas with high salt content in their environment.
These Lightning arresters are usually recommended for small areas with fewer Lightning strikes like small homes, offices, warehouses and other low height structures. These are less reliable in comparison with advanced ‘Early streamer Lightning Arresters’ and they also protect less surrounding area in their comparison.
They provide protection over the structure within 10 meters of their diameter from their installation point. These should be installed at a minimum height of 2 meters from the highest point of the structure.
